The TXS0108E is well known and used in countless projects to convert between different logic levels. But it is tricky and especially unreliable when used with I2C and SPI; it’s only advantage over discrete logic level converters is it’s 3-state output.
If the 3-state output is not needed, a discrete solution with MOSFET transistors is much easier to deal with, doesn’t cause any problems with I2C and SPI, and can be used in a wider voltage range.
We developed this module to be a drop-in replacement for the very common TXS0108E module.
